Cancer Matters

Investigating the latest headlines, pharma news and research in cancer

About

Why? – Cancer is a class of diseases that will affect all of us at some point in our lives. It is one of the leading causes of mortality in the world and is affecting more and more individuals every year – yet public understanding of cancer is very limited. Cancer needs to be spoken about because the more we talk about it, the more lives that will be saved.

Cancer should no longer be seen as a taboo subject and instead should be openly communicated in society. Research should not just be exclusive to academics but instead should be embraced by the general public in order to increase our overall understanding of the subject. The more we know about cancer, the earlier we can diagnose it, the more effectively we can treat it and the more we can prevent it.

My Aim – Once cancer touches your life, you never forget it. My aim is to highlight scientific research and to remove the barrier between academics and the public.

Even if this blog affects just one individual – be it through what symptoms to look out for, ways in which to approach cancer or even just to enlighten – I shall consider myself successful.
